On August 6, 2026, Hoan Hao General Hospital organized the Code Blue Training and In-Hospital Drill program with the participation of healthcare staff from across the hospital and members of the Code Blue Team.

The program was directly presented and instructed by Dr. Nguyen Tai Phuong, Specialist Level I, Head of the Emergency Department, and was attended by Dr. Duong Hoang Ha, Specialist Level I, Hospital Director, demonstrating the Hospital Management Board's commitment to training, enhancing professional competence, and improving the quality of in-hospital emergency care.

The activity was organized to strengthen in-hospital emergency response capabilities, standardize response procedures for cardiac arrest and respiratory arrest situations, thereby contributing to improving the quality of medical examination and treatment while ensuring patient safety.

Through the program, healthcare staff updated their knowledge, strengthened practical skills, and improved interdisciplinary coordination in managing emergency situations. This is one of the regular training activities of Hoan Hao General Hospital aimed at building a safe, professional, and patient-centered healthcare environment.

Training Objectives

The program was implemented with the following objectives:

- Update healthcare staff on the Code Blue procedure.

- Enhance the ability to recognize, activate, and coordinate the management of cardiac arrest and respiratory arrest within the hospital.

- Standardize coordination procedures among departments to improve the quality of emergency care and ensure patient safety.

Training and Practical Drill Contents

The theoretical session focused on key topics, including an overview of Code Blue, recognition of cardiac arrest and respiratory arrest, Code Blue activation criteria, the roles and responsibilities of each Code Blue Team member, guidance on the use of the Code Blue cart and emergency equipment, while emphasizing the in-hospital emergency response process aligned with the goal of ensuring patient safety.

In addition, the program included practical training on Code Blue activation, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the use of the Code Blue cart and emergency equipment, and simulation drills based on real-life scenarios in clinical departments. After each scenario, participants and instructors conducted evaluations, provided feedback, and shared lessons learned to improve emergency response effectiveness in actual practice.
